Indigenous Communities

Indigenous communities can have environmental management concerns and needs that can require a collaborative approach. We help communities develop and operate in environmentally sustainable ways.

Our Engagement and Planning Services Include:

• Community planning for growth and development, protecting fishing, forestry, hunting, and traditional use areas

• Incorporating traditional land use & valued ecological components (VECs) into environmental assessments and planning

• Community engagement and consultation

• Grant writing & application submission support

We work collaboratively with First Nations, Inuit and Metis communities and help find a bridge between Traditional Knowledge and western science.

Our Capacity Building Services Include:

• Traditional land use support

• Environmental and safety audits (reviews) for fuel storage and distribution (Gas Stations)

• Technical review of environmental assessments (ESAs, EIAs and other regulatory packages)

• Regulatory advice
